Dear parents and families of Children’s Dental Center,

These past several weeks have been such a trying time for our country as we have been evaluating how to handle the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone has been faced with the tough decisions and changes that need to be made not only to keep our own families safe but also our neighbors as well. There is no one left unaffected.

We here at Children’s Dental Center have been doing our best to keep up with the ever changing advice and best practices in order to reduce the spread of the disease and “flatten the curve”. As of yesterday afternoon, the American Dental Association has made the following recommendation, “In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures...concentrating on emergency dental care.” With these things in mind, we have made the decision to close our offices for the next 2-3 weeks, beginning March 18, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will decide weekly if this closure needs to be adjusted.

If your child has a scheduled appointment at one of our offices during this time, our staff will be contacting you to reschedule those appointments. We are developing a makeup schedule that may include extended hours to accommodate all postponed appointments. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

While our offices are closed temporarily, our doctors will be available to treat patients with true dental emergencies only (pain or swelling) at our Houston Levee location. We want to ensure your child is taken care of despite our offices not being open for routine care.

Please call and leave a message at 901-861-9668 with your child's name, the details of the emergency, and the best contact number for a return call. We have a staff member present to return all voicemails between 8 am - 5 pm and schedule emergency appointments.

If your child is experiencing a dental emergency that is life-threatening, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room.

In these difficult times, let’s continue to encourage one another, stay calm, and smile on!

Sincerely,

The Doctors and Staff of Children’s Dental Center
